The flood situation in Sambalpur and Jharsuguda districts remained grim even as rain stopped towards the evening on Tuesday.
Traffic between Sambalpur and Rourkela was suspended after Bheden river water flowed over the SH-10 near Kherwal bridge. Jharsuguda district authorities deployed two platoons of police force to ensure no one ventured over the submerged portion of the road.
